On this episode, Dennis asks Aaron and Kate what their Fanime plans are. It’s literally right around the corner, so it’s even shorter this time. But, we get a look at more events and even more food anticipation. We haven’t even left yet! Episode 41 is a go! Read more

Hey guys, this is Aaron. I just recently finished editing photos from a shoot I took a few weeks ago with some incredible cosplayers. Some of them I have had the pleasure of working with before and some that I would be working with for the first time. This was a Durarara!! photoshoot that was organized by It’s Itsuka who is a great Southern California cosplayer. The setting for the shoot was an urban city just like the one in Durara!! Lucky enough, most of us lived near Los Angeles so we were able to use Downtown LA as the background. As usual, it was fun taking all these pictures of these wonderful cosplayers. Here are a few of my favorites:
It’s May, and a lot of big conventions are happening this month. While we’re gearing up for Fanime, Kate and Diana were able to attend Anime Conji in San Diego and tell Dennis all about their adventures. And see if Anime Conji is something you’d like to attend next year. And while we’re on the subject with upcoming conventions, Diana also has a brief experience regarding a new resource for wig purchases. Episode 39 is a go! Read more
It’s one of those extra long episodes as Kate and Dennis go over both World Cosplay Summit at Anime Matsuri and Sakura-Con with the help of Diana, Eve, and Chika. We’ve got stories and experiences with both conventions, including how to survive when restaurants are closed, camaraderie through friendly competition, working with American Cosplay Paradise and Funimation at a con, and much much more! And congratulations to Cupcake Cosplay, our US representatives for WCS 2013! Episode 38 is a go! Read more
So many conventions, and not enough time. In the first part of our Easter Weekend convention coverage, here we have a recap of Wonder Con. Lots of spending, and especially lots of cosplay. There’s the return of talking about food and food trucks, along with our trek to finally experience Slaters 50/50. And we have a new segment about the things we (mostly Dennis) bought at the conveion which we’re calling Convention Haul. And it seemed that our Avatar cosplays were a big hit! Hope you enjoy then stories and the photos. And why is it that Dennis can’t say Finn? Episode 37 is a go! Read more
Short episode today, but you’re not worried about this description. No! It’s Easter Weekend, and you’ve got conventions to attend! Well, so do we, so we got a short episode for you while we were finishing up some Wonder Con cosplay. Still, we needed a little mental break, so Kate and Dennis stopped by the Legend of Korra Fan Art Show presented by Pixel Drip. A few photos are on our Facebook page if you wanted to check them out (beware: all phone pics). And we also talk about what we’ve been working on as well. It’s an all Avatar/Korra podcast today. Episode 36 is a go!

In our final segment regarding Western media (for now, at least), we take a look at the business side of the equation with help from our guests Reggie, owner of Power Anime, and Amy from Viz Media. The increasing presence of Western media has a direct effect for both our guests’ business, so their opinions are quite unique for our podcast. And stick around for the end, too, as our guests are in for a surprise question lightning round involving this topic. See how many you could get! Episode 34 is a go!

It’s part 2 of our Western media and pop culture talk at anime conventions. This time we get insight from some of our favorite artist alley friends–Ben (aka e1n) and returning guests Scuttlebutt Ink. Listen as they both praise and blast the current state of artist alley, and how Western media is helping them and other succeed in selling you art at conventions. Episode 33 is a go! Read more
This is Aaron, and it’s is my first time posting on the site. I’m pretty sure you guys have seen me in cosplay throughout the years, wearing my Sentoumaru, Bepo, and Alvida cosplay. As you can see I’m really into cosplay and One Piece. But, lately I’ve been more focused on the photography side of cosplay. Last year I upgraded my camera from a normal point and shoot Samsung to a Canon DSLR. I have been wanting to do that for years, but only last year was I finally able to save up some money and buy one. I upgraded because I wanted to showcase the cosplayers I took pictures of. There are so many wonderful cosplayers with such elaborate costumes that my old point and shoot camera could not do them justice. But, I am still new to the photography, and there is still so much for me to learn. If you have any suggestions on how I can improve with pictures please feel free to e-mail me at skcosplay@hotmail.com. Read more
